From humble beginnings in 1937 running an air service between Penang and Singapore to 1947 where MAL took to the skies with its first commercial flight as the national airline. Today, Malaysia Airlines flies almost 50,000 passengers each day to some 100 destinations worldwide.

Cabin Classes

Travelling in First Class is all about comfort, luxury and space onboard Malaysia Airlines. The new flat bed seats enable you to bask in the curved shell offering while you enjoy the comfort afforded by several preset positions accessible at the touch of a button. Fully adjustable headrests and massage elements provide maximum comfort. Flying in First Class ensures you'll always fly in style with fine dining and the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Golden Club Class or Business Class is available on all of Malaysia Airlines fleet. The newer business class can only be found on Boeing 747-400 and 777-200. These feature a 180-degree angled-flat bed seat, with a pitch of 58" and a width of 23.5". These seats also offer a 10.4-inch LCD touch screen monitor. Golden Club Class cabins are fitted with a mood lighting system, synchronized with the time and duration of the journey.

Economy Class seats feature a pitch of 33-34 inches and width of 18-19 inches. A 6.5" personal TV is located behind each seat on the Airbus A330-200, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777-200, while the, Airbus A330-300 offers a movie that all passengers can view on overhead LCD screens. Your personal TV also becomes a video game console with over 40 games to choose from.

Onboard

Malaysia Airlines use only the best ingredients from around the world, which are chosen personally by their team of chefs. Dine on lamb shank bathed in Sarawak black pepper sauce, baked North Atlantic black cod or their award-winning 'satay'. Malaysia Airlines offer an extensive selection of beverages to complement your meal, including fine wines.

First Class passengers will dine in style as Malaysia Airlines have recreated a fine dining experience in the air with quality Wedgewood china, custom-made cutlery, fine Italian glassware and mood lighting. The SKYSNAX menu offers a selection of food including cheese and crackers, chocolates or biscuits and fruits if you should crave a bite in between meals.

Malaysia Airlines offers a extensive choice of Special Meals, should you have any special dietary requirements. Your request must be made at the time of flight reservations, and no less than 24 hours prior to departure time.

Begin your holiday the moment you board, Malaysia Airlines offers a choice of TV shows, movies, sports channels and news for your entertainment or simply relax and listen to music.

Before You Fly

The Golden Lounge is the airport lounge for Malaysia Airlines First Class, Golden Club Class passengers and Enrich Platinum and Enrich Gold members. These lounges provide open bars and food catering. Lounges offer various services including business centres, food catering, slumber rooms and child-care centres.

Lounges are provided at the following airports: Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi. Frankfurt, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Langkawi, London-Heathrow, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Penang, Perth, Singapore and Sydney.
