Jet2 has been flying commercial aircraft for over 25 years, exclusively under the name Channel Express. Jet2 has now flown over 5 million passengers. They commenced their low cost operations in February 2003 flying from Leeds Bradford International Airport to and from Amsterdam.

Now 21 Boeing 737-300 aircraft and 5 Boeing 757-200s are located across their 6 UK bases and fly to 29 top sun, city and ski destinations in more than 10 European countries, 3 Mediterranean Islands and the Canary Islands. Jet2 main headquarters is based in Leeds Bradford Airport.

September 2004, Jet2 announced its second base, Manchester Airport. Now servicing 22 international routes and up to twice daily services to and from London Gatwick. Routes from Newcastle Airport were launched in June 2005, currently offering 13 exciting destinations such as Amsterdam, Bergen, Cork, Krakow, Menorca, Murcia, Pisa and Tenerife.
