Air Berlin's development is closely linked to Germany's recent history. Air Berlin was the first German national airline to be established in Berlin since the fall of the Berlin Wall. After the Second World War, only aircraft from the Allied powers were allowed to land in Berlin. For this reason, the "Air Berlin Inc." was founded in 1978 in Oregon, USA, by former PanAm captain Kim Lundgren from Portland.
Air Berlin now operates to 97 destinations, including a comprehensive network of domestic flights between German cities, flights to major European cities, as well as to the most popular holiday resorts around the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and in North Africa.
With Air Berlin main focus being on high level of service, value for money cannot be overlooked, early bookers are sure to save money on low-cost tickets.
