Flybe is now Europe’s largest regional airline, flying to twelve countries and fifty-seven destinations across Europe. Beginning in 1979 when Jersey European Airways was formed and began operating regional services from Jersey.
Flybe operates out of major bases located at Birmingham, Southampton, Belfast, Channel Islands, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is the largest scheduled airline at Birmingham, Norwich, Exeter, Southampton, the Channel Islands, and Belfast City. Flybe operates out of more UK airports than any other airline.
Flybe has been a market leader in developing its range of passenger services. Flybe is the only low cost airline to offer a Business Class service, Flybe Economy Plus, also the first to launch online check-in to passengers carry hand and hold baggage, and the first to introduce a pre-assigned seating facility allowing passengers to pre-book their seats.
