Aer Lingus began operations on 1937 and are the national flag carrier of Ireland. Originally wholly owned by the Irish government the airline commercially floated in October 2006. They are based at Dublin Airport and currently operate 41 Airbus aircraft servicing Europe, Africa and North America. Aer Lingus is a former member of the One World airline alliance which they left on 31 March 2007 to pursue a high-end low-cost business model.
Aer Lingus is now a leading low-cost, low-fares airline operating single economy class service on their short-haul network comprising of 84 routes to the United Kingdom and Continental Europe and a two-class service on their long-haul network comprising of services from Shannon and Dublin to destinations in the United States.
