KD Avia began operations in 1949 as the 64th Air Squadron of the Civil Aviation and from 1978 was reorganised as a state owned enterprise and renamed Kaliningrad Avia. Kaliningrad’s separation from Russia has increased the requirement for direct air transport between Kaliningrad and Russia due to the fact that land travel between the two requires expensive and time consuming visa clearance, and in 2008 renamed to KD Avia.
Based at Khrabrovo airport in Kaliningrad Russia, KD Avia operates scheduled services within Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Europe. KD Avia have invested heavily in there aircraft fleet and a new passenger transit terminal at Khrabrovo Airport.
With routes to and from Kaliningrad, KD Avia offers a wide variety of on-ward flight connections to Russian destinations.
