Have you ever thought about going to Latin America but couldn't decide which places to visit and which places to leave out? Well why put yourself through all that decision making process and just throw caution to the wind and do the whole lot at once! Tucan have the most amazing 6 month itinerary that starts and finishes in Quito, Ecuador, the Circuito 1 tour takes you to the best places that Latin America has to offer. From the Ecuadorian Andes you travel through the archaeological rich northern and southern deserts of Peru, up to Machu Picchu where you will embark on the famous Inca Trail and then on to Lake Titicaca. In Bolivia you will visit La Paz (the world's highest capital) and the surreal Uyuni Salt lakes before crossing the Atacama Desert in to Chile. Follow this long thin country until you reach Patagonia, a land blessed with arguably the best scenery in the world, and finally to the lowest point of the continent, Tierra del Fuego. It takes 77 days to reach the tip of South America - Ushuaia (Argentina) - from here its back on the road and up through the Argentinean Patagonia, through the "Welsh" town of Puerto Madryn and on to the "Paris of the America's" Buenos Aires.

After Argentina, you cross the border in to the little visited country of Paraguay where you will be able to visit the Jesuit mission town of Trinidad and wonder at the amazing cathedrals that once were deep in the jungle. From Paraguay it's off to arguably the most beautiful waterfall in the world, Iguaçu Falls and then to arguably the wildest city on earth, Rio de Janeiro. Travel up the Brazilian Coast to the old Portuguese slave town of Salvador with it's colonial architecture and on to Recife and Olinda (the old Dutch capital). Now you depart the coast for a trip, by ferry, along the mighty Amazon River to the Amazonian capital of Manaus - this is your chance to see some superlative wildlife in the rainforest and meet the local Indians. Leave Brazil by road and travel to the beautiful Canaima National Park, in Venezuela, and to the world's highest waterfall, Angel Falls. Also visit the vast wetland of the Llanos which is teeming with wildlife, including the massive Anaconda. Cross the Venezuela/Colombian border and stay in the colonial coastal town of Cartegena and also visit the tranquil beaches of Tairona National Park in Santa Marta. Take a plane ride to the capital of Colombia, Bogota, and then on to Ipiales at the Ecuadorian border. Finish your 6 month exploratory trip of South America back where you started - but now armed with a lot more memories and experiences - in Quito!

Gulf Air launches 'Gulfy'

Gulf Air, which introduced the award-winning Sky Nanny service, has just launched Gulfy, a new Gulf Air 'icon' to entertain and enthral children.

Gulf Air unveiled Gulfy - a life-size, Cartoon character - to a large gathering of children, teachers, Gulf Air patrons and media persons in a launch ceremony at the Coral Beach Club, near the Dolphin Park, on the Manama Corniche.

"We have conceived Gulfy with a specific idea - to bring in more life and fun for children, who are also our important customers," says Gulf Air Vice President Marketing and Sales Danny Barranger.

"The character has been created as an enhancement to our Sky Nanny service, which has earned a name for itself in the aviation industry. Gulfy is a perfect complement to Sky Nanny and I am sure it will appeal to children of all ages."

Gulfy will accompany the Sky Nanny to various locations in Bahrain and Muscat such as airport departure and arrival gates and Gulf Air lounges greeting and entertaining young travellers before and after their flights.
