Adventure Tour of the Week
Adventure Tour – Intrepid Travel
River Kwai Adventure, Thailand – 5 days
If you just want a quick, cheap but adventurous getaway
then check this tour out. The first day you can arrive
at Thailand's capital and have a free day to go shopping
in the markets, taste some yummy Thai food or whatever
else takes your fancy.
Then you will drive to Kanchanaburi where you will visit
the WWII War Museum, the Allied War Cemetery and the
famous ‘Bridge over the River Kwai’. After lunch you’ll
jump on a longboat to take you to your hotel, the River
Kwai Jungle Rafts. This hotel is made of wood and floats
on large bamboo rafts on the river. It doesn’t have any
electricity and only has cold water but has private
facilities. Tonight you’ll see a traditional Mon dance
and song show by the villagers.
The next morning you will visit a local ethnic Mon
village and enjoy an elephant-back ride through the
jungle on one of the village’s working elephants. You
have a free afternoon to kick back in hammock, enjoy a
Thai Herbal massage or visit the near by Lawa Cave. The
following day you have the morning to chill out and
explore the natural surroundings or get a Thai Herbal
massage if you missed out yesterday! After lunch you’ll
leave the River Kwai Jungle Rafts and take a ride on the
“Death Railway” through some magnificent scenery along
the Kwai Noi River. You’ll then be taken by mini-bus
back to Bangkok.
The tour finishes today after breakfast so the day is
yours to explore Bangkok how you please. You can also
book additional nights in Bangkok to extend your stay.

Best Airline Inflight Entertainment 2005
The 2005 Airline Inflight Entertainment Survey
achieved a total of 1,011,254 eligible survey
interviews, during the 10 month project period.
Commenting on the results, Peter Miller, (Skytrax
Director of Marketing) said ... "the whole concept
of inflight entertainment has changed so
dramatically in the last ten years, and the relative
importance of IFE to passengers continues to grow.
Our survey is not about judging which particular
airline offers the best 'arty' programming in any
specific region, but centres on the concept that IFE
has to offer a very broad, mass appeal."
"Choice is paramount, and in the past couple of
years it has become more focussed on giving the
customer control, with many airlines now offering
audio and video on-demand. Every airline now has to
supply IFE that appeals to a multi-cultural audience
of all ages .... and in doing so, provide a format
of entertainment that offers wall-to-wall
programming across the longest flights. With new
aircraft operating nonstop flights up to 17 hours,
the customer expects and demands an even higher
quality of onboard IFE - quite simply, a single main
screen at the front of the cabin is wholly
unacceptable in today's market."
"Whilst much of the IFE development was conducted at
the front-end of the plane (in First / Business
class), it is the Economy cabin passenger which has
the highest level of appreciation and satisfaction
from IFE enhancements. With flat-beds and lie-flat
seats becoming the norm in the premium cabin, it is
the Economy cabin customer who is most likely to
spend a much longer portion of a long haul flight
making use of the different inflight entertainment
options."
