EASY PACE RUSSIA: 8 DAY TOUR From $1925.00 p/p
Insight Vacations are the definitely the first class
option for coach tours. What sets this tour company

in first class hotels for the entirety of your journey,

Not only do Insight offer comprehensive tours of Europe
but they also offer independent and easy pace tours for
travellers who are wanting to combine guided tours but
at their own pace. The easy pace tour of Russia is one
of the few regional tours that allows you to take in two
major cities exploring the many cathedrals, majestic
palaces and many museums at your own pace.
Day one of the tour begins in Moscow where you are free
to explore one of the most historic cities in the
evolution of Russia, as it was one of the centres of the
revolutionary struggle of the proletariat in all three
revolutions in Russia. Relax as much as you can on day
one, as day two will not be so relaxing.
Day two you will be on an escorted sightseeing tour that
will take you through The Red Square located right next
to the Kremlin, where you will be escorted through St
Basil’s domed cathedral and the tomb site for probably
the most significant person in the 1917 revolution of
Russia, Vladimar Lenin. After the cathedral you will
then get to walk inside the impressive Kremlin fortress
and then finish the tour exploring through the Metro
stations that Stalin referred to as the ‘palaces of the
people’.
Day three will again be at leisure where it is suggested
that you perhaps take a trip to the Kremlin museum to
gaze at the treasury of the Tsars. On day four you will
be on a 4-hour train journey up to St Petersburg (the
former Leningrad) founded by Peter The Great in 1703 to
be the new capital of Tsarist Russia. Day five will
consist wholly of an in-depth sightseeing tour which
will show you St Isaac’s Cathedral, the Fortress of St
Peter and Paul, Decembrists square, the great Cathedral
of Kazan and the former home to Russia’s Tsars, The
Winter Palace. There will also be time to see the
memorial to the Nazi siege of Leningrad during World War
II and the cruiser ‘Aurora’ at anchor on the Neva River
whose crew signalled the outset of the Russian
Revolution. The highlight of this tour will be visiting
the spectacular Hermitage one of the worlds greatest
museums housing a fabulous collection of paintings and
objects D’art.
Day six there will be a trip out to Peter the Great's
Summer Residence at Petroverts, where you will be able
to wander through the spectacular gardens and fountains
which for centuries were used for official ceremonies,
lavish feasts and formal festivities. The last two days
will be at leisure where you will have the chance to
take in more of St Petersberg and its many palace lined
waterways at your own pace.
